House Energy Rating
Under the Energy Smart Homes initiative, building approvals in New South Wales require an energy assessment to show that residential dwellings achieve a minimum 3.5 star rating (NatHERS or scorecard) as a condition of consent.
The NatHERS energy rating is provided through computer analysis of the heat flows in and out of a residential building to determine the amount of annual heating and cooling energy required to maintain comfort conditions within the residence.
NatHERS will provide a more accurate assessment than the scorecard and will save money for the client.
All Councils also require a BASIX certificate for any new building, swimming pools (dependant on size of pool), building alterations and additions (dependant on the value of works).
Techton can co-ordinate an assessment of each development proposal to ensure compliance with the mandated energy efficiency requirements.
